Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be key in driving business growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and expanding our customer base and revenue. The ideal candidate will possess:

Demonstrated practical project and/or defense logistics operations and business development experience

Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets

Effective sales and marketing skills

An innovative approach to problem-solving and overcoming challenges

Natural leadership abilities with self-starting instincts and the capability to act independently

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development: Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for CakeBoxx Technologies, with a primary focus on the market areas of defense, aerospace, wind/energy, steel, and special projects, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders:

Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion

Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking efforts

Build and nurture relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to maximize business development opportunities

Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and pitches to prospective customers, showcasing the company’s value proposition and capabilities

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of customer solutions

Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities for the company

Track and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives and inform future strategies

Coordinate customer events, meetings, appointments, and conferences

Maintain proactive and consistent communication with both current and prospective customers, supporting procurement requirements and processes as necessary

Collaborate with other internal functions to support customer acquisition and retention efforts

Support CakeBoxx marketing stakeholders to help create content for social media channels, the company website, and other venues

Keep management informed for awareness and decision-making support

Qualifications/Experience:

Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.

Relevant Experience: 3+ years of practical experience with a proven track record in Project and/or Defense Logistics business development, acquiring/retaining customers, and managing multiple customers/pipelines. Experience working with the defense, aerospace, wind/energy, steel, and/or special project industry areas is preferred. Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Past experience in the supply chain, logistics, transportation, freight forwarding and/or third-party logistics provider industry (with emphasis on handling special projects and large industrial product solutions) is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies: Ability and proficiency in articulating the company’s products to customers clearly, professionally, and energetically. Critical skillsets include the following:

Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport with customers and partners

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively

Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights

Highly motivated self-starter with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities

Effective verbal and written communication skills (writing samples required)

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, and creative problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset

Experience working with business development tools, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, such as HubSpot CRM or Salesforce

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Technical Proficiency: Strong English language proficiency in communicating technical and subject matter information. Second language skills are appreciated but not required.
