A manufacturing company is seeking a Tool Maker/Manual Machinist who will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce high-quality precision components for tooling to make parts according to customer specifications. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Duties:
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation
Align and secure work pieces using clamps, vises, and other holding devices
Perform machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, drilling, tapping, milling, surface grinding, and threading, with precision and adherence to quality standards
Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, to verify part accuracy.
Make necessary adjustments and modifications to tooling to maintain quality and productivity
Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues and related to stamping and fabricating tooling
Collaborate with engineering and production teams improve product quality through better tool design
Set up and operate CNC Machining Center and Wire EDM (as required, training available)
Complete work orders, production reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have a High school diploma, GED, or technical school certificate
Must have experience as a Manual Machinist in a fabricating job shop or similar environment
Must be proficient in operating manual machining tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
Must have strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and cutting parameters
Must have an excellent understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection methods
Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Must have strong troubleshooting skills while being able to resolve machining issues
Must be able to pay a high attention to detail while producing accurate and high-quality work
Must have good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects is needed
Must be able to abide by all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
