The College of New Jersey's Department of Political Science is seeking a dynamic adjunct instructor to teach our undergraduate course in "Origins of the US Constitution" for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

Course Description:

POL 365/Origins of the U.S. Constitution (same as HIS 366)

An examination of the political theories, people, social and economic forces, events, and political context that influenced the framing and ratification of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The syllabi for this course have historically examined the history of the ideas that contributed to the US Constitution as well as its social context. The instructor is free to make use of the existing syllabi, revise them, or create their own.

Minimum qualifications include:

• PhD or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in political science/government

• Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred

• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required

Note: The course will be offered in person at TCNJ's campus in Ewing, NJ.
