CNC MachinistSUMMARY
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the set-up and operation of a variety of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools to produce or repair/refurbish precision parts in conformance with the Company’s requirements for safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
KEY DETAILS
Position: CNC Machinist (3rd Shift)
Shift Hours: 6:30 PM start, 8 to 12-hour shift (overtime may be required)
Schedule: Monday through Friday with occasional weekend OT
Pay Rate: Starts at $22.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience
Location: 2250 Atlanta Hwy., Gainesville, GA 30504
JOB SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills and lathes to machine precision parts per specifications.
Program CNC machines by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensations.
Measure and verify workpieces using tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure conformance to specifications.
Troubleshoot and adjust machine operations to maintain product quality and minimize downtime.
Perform routine and emergency maintenance to keep machines in proper working condition.
Monitor feed rates, machine speeds, and equipment performance to ensure efficient operation.
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes and resolve any technical issues.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
Dispose of scrap and waste materials according to company and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate production logs, document quality issues, and communicate information between shifts.
Support ongoing projects, ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards.
Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and ensure proper PPE is used during tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.
Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and project needs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of experience in CNC Machining
Manual machining experience preferred but not required
Trade school or vocational training preferred but not required
Familiarity with OSHA and Company safety requirements
Collaborative, open-minded, and professional communication style and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with employees across every responsibility level
