Machinist

Summary/objective

Build and maintain plastic injection molds and components from detailed prints and sketches.

Essential functions

Able to proficiently use all machine shop equipment with extreme accuracy.

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.

Must be familiar with metallurgy and heat treatment of steel.

Able to lay out and make best use of materials and time to efficiently complete job assignments.

Able to work with Production and Engineering and interpret needs to enable improved designs and processes.

Able to use all precision measuring instruments.

Must be able to make accurate sketches of existing components.

Competencies

Candidates must be proficient where all forms of Machine shop equipment are used to produce fixturing, perform repairs to existing fixturing.

Required education and experience.

High School Diploma or GED.

5 years Machine Shop experience.

Preferred Education and experience

Vocational Degree in Machinist or CNC
