We’re seeking a passionate and energetic Director to oversee our Before and After School Program at Lopatcong Elementary School in Phillipsburg, NJ. As the Director, you'll be the key leader in managing all aspects of the Healthy Kids Program Site.

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday

JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

JOB PAY RATE: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Hours: 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM, 2:15 PM - 5:30 PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guiding Compliance: Ensure staff and the program follow OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the regulations set by our host school.

Creating Fun: Lead engaging hands-on activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Don’t forget helping with homework – you’ll be their homework hero!

Managing Operations: Oversee key management responsibilities, including maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, while ensuring the program is appropriately staffed.

Maintaining Communication: Keep parents and family members informed via the Playground App, sharing important updates and moments.

Collaborative Teamwork: Regularly communicate with your direct report, ensuring they’re informed about daily activities and addressing any issues promptly. Working together as a team, we’ll provide top-quality care and foster a positive working environment while tackling any challenges that arise.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Healthcare, Nursing, or another field related to Child Growth and Development, or a Teaching Certification in Elementary Education, Nursery School, Preschool through Third Grade (P-3), or Teacher of the Handicapped. Additionally, six Early Childhood credits and two years of experience working with children.

OR Bachelor’s Degree in any field not listed above, plus six Early Childhood credits and four years of experience working with children.

OR Head Teacher endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals, Professional Impact New Jersey.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Be prepared for a background check, including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR through NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

You must be medically cleared to perform all duties and free from communicable diseases like TB.

Warm, friendly, and positive, with excellent interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, and colleagues. You are professional, reliable, and punctual.

Must be physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry (up to 50 lbs.) to keep up with the energetic pace of the kids.
