Job Description:
We are hiring operationally savvy developers to join our Front Office Technology team supporting Municipal (Muni) trading and execution at one of the world’s largest asset managers. This team of full stack engineers maintains and enhances cross-asset execution management capabilities, sitting at the intersection of systems administration and development. The role focuses on daily support and continuous improvement/automation of trading technology platforms.
As a DevOps Support Engineer, you will be the primary contact for business users of a complex Muni trading platform, working closely with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams. Over time, the role will expand to support other asset classes and businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain telemetry and observability solutions
Lead incident analysis, mitigation, and blameless postmortems, implementing long-term solutions
Identify and reduce toil through workflow and incident pattern analysis
Plan, lead, and optimize production software and infrastructure for capacity and resiliency
Apply AI and next-gen tools to improve uptime, efficiency, and scalability
Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and third-party teams
Position Requirements:
2+ years in a support role for trading or financial services; Muni experience is a plus, but any asset class is welcome
Coding/scripting experience in at least one major language (Python, C#, Java, C++, etc.)
Strong focus on automation of manual tasks and processes
Proven skills in incident management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution in trading environments
Proficient in system/network admin (Unix, Windows), cloud tech (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes), and infrastructure components (routers, load balancers, etc.)
Experience with RDBMS systems
Understanding of ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, Change, Config Mgmt.)
Knowledge of SRE principles (SLI, SLO, error budgets)
Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Splunk, Geneos, etc.
Interest in or experience with AI and prompt engineering is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and proactive planning mindset
Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with local business users
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience
