POSITION TITLE:LVN Instructor (Part-Time Positions)

START DATE:Immediately

CAMPUS/DEPARTMENT:Brown County Campus/Vocational Nursing Program

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students in both the classroom and clinical areas in accordance with the policies of Ranger College and the rules and regulations of the Texas Board of Nursing. Organize and present instructional material at times scheduled by the Director, follow course syllabi and outlines. Update text, outlines and teaching so that they remain current with the curriculum and to meet the changing needs of the student and any changes mandated by both the College and the Commission. Maintain up-to-date academic and attendance records on each student and make these records available to the Director and to the Registrars Office. Participate in professional development activities, conferences and workshops, which focus on his/her subject matter, professional growth and the improvement of instruction.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Candidate must have a current LVN or RN license in the state of Texas and have at least 3 years teaching experience with no disciplinary action.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LVN or RN Degree

Experience teaching LVN program (Preferred)

Current Texas licensure

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast paced, busy student oriented setting

Ability to initiate and complete tasks within demanding time limits

Experience in or exposure to a community college environment desirable

Assume other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES:An instructor/faculty member in the Vocational Nursing (VN) Program is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives of the VN Program and ensuring program compliance with the Texas Board of Nursing. These responsibilities require leadership in both academic and workforce areas and include meeting student retention goals, participating in educational planning, evaluating student performance, motivating and advising student and generating program reports as needed. The individual will serve as an Instructor in the VN Program as a part time faculty member.

Education:

Master's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Experience:

Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

RN (Preferred)
