Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer for a Hybrid (mostly remote with some on-site in Huntsville, Texas) long term position on our W2 (no sponsorship or C2C). You will be working with GitHub Cloud on our Huntsville, Texas Client's mandated modernization project involving AWS, Azure, Google and other cloud-based initiatives to help facilitate an infrastructure build out.

A working knowledge of A.I.

will be useful.

You will work with our client's admin team to optimize, implement, and maintain their organization's cloud-based systems including deploying and debugging systems, as well as executing new cloud initiatives.

Ultimately, you will work with different IT professionals and teams to ensure our client's cloud computing systems meet the needs of their organization.

Responsibilities Include: Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems such as AWS, Azure, Google, DevOps, GitOps, Soft Stack, Ansible Cloud formation and Terraform.Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issuesRegularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.Interact with internal clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on needs.Gain deep insights into Customer issues and potential risks based on subject matter expertise;Devise approach to solving complex problems;Exhibit intellectual leadership to the problem-solving effort;Manage conflicting stakeholder expectations;Provide thought leadership in project; Help team to develop new insights from the analysis;Prioritize the recommendations based on ease of implementation and impact;Provide subject matter expertise on a specific area within the domain/technology/service; Required 7-10 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer Proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.Troubleshooting and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Client management skills to discuss systems as needed.Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Engineer.IaC experience through either Terraform, Cloud Formation, CDK or Ansible.Experience with scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, Perl or other interpretative languages.Expertise in identifying and defining problems, analysis and developing recommendations;Preferred Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.Understanding of Networking Principles.Understanding of Security principles, including but not limited to RBAC, Active Directory/Entra, and Security groups.
