Petmate/Doskocil Mfg., Inc was founded in 1960 as an innovative manufacturer and supplier of crates and kennels used by the airline industry to transport pets. Petmate headquarters are in Arlington, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Come be a part of our team.
The internship program will be a paid, 10-week program beginning June 2025. Our interns can expect to work 40 hrs./wk. during the 10-week period.
SCOPE
Our summer program allows students to gain exposure and understanding of various careers in the manufacturing and distribution industry. Interns in this program will gain exposure to the following areas:
Product analysis and documentation
SolidWorks CAD modeling
Prototyping
Design for injection molding
Product claims testing
Product library data entry
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate for this program will be an undergraduate in good standing at a senior level enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or Product Design program.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Knowledge of product testing and analysis
Knowledge of and experience with SolidWorks CAD software
Familiar with documentation and technical writing
Experience with MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong presentation skills
Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Demonstrates a positive attitude toward self and others
Interact effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization
Able to type data and use a PC for extended periods of time
Able to lift up to 25lbs occasionally
