**Job Title: Lathe Machinist**

**Job Description**

We are seeking dedicated and experienced machinists to join our team on the swing shift. This is a long-term opportunity with potential for growth within the company. As a lathe machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and performing basic programming of CNC lathes and 5 Axis Vertical Mills. Our facility produces parts for the military, medical, automotive, and oil and gas industries.

**Responsibilities**

+ Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce small batches or large quantities of parts.

+ Work effectively in a team environment.

+ Ensure products meet precise specifications.

+ Exercise focused attention to detail.

+ Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for jobs.

+ Monitor the accuracy of cuts and replace dull cutting tools.

+ Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.

+ Use mics, calipers, and various handheld tools for parts inspection to verify conformance to specifications.

+ Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce parts.

**Essential Skills**

+ Previous experience with CNC lathes and/or 5 Axis Vertical Mills.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Proficiency with hand tools and measurement instruments such as calipers.

+ Strong verbal, writing, and communication skills.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in a machine shop environment.

+ Ability to work flexible hours.

+ Knowledge of the military, medical, automotive, and oil and gas industries.

**Work Environment**

Our shop is clean and equipped with new and well-maintained CNC machines. We offer a flexible day shift from Monday to Friday, with options to work from 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm, or 8am-5pm. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a t-shirt.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Caldwell, Idaho.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
