Integration Support Engineer (Java Messaging)

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Location: IRS Facility, DC Metro Area. Note: 24x7, on-call support required

Clearance: Public Trust

RISA is hiring an EAIB Operations Engineer to support daily operations and incident response within the IRS EAIB Integration Server (IS) environment. This individual will provide monitoring, queue management, restart support, and operational triage for messaging services.

Key responsibilities:

Experience with Java Messaging Service (JMS), IBM MQ, or middleware platform triage

Monitor middleware services and triage incidents (P1-P4)

Restart Integration Servers and application components as needed

Validate Java Messaging Service (JMS) queue health and messaging system performance

Support queue clearance, credential rotation, and certificate renewals

Document operational tasks and contribute to system recovery logs

Patch support / POA&M / security scanning

Ops-level patching and health verification workflows

Linux/server-level debugging

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's in IT or related discipline

5+ years of IT systems operations or integration support

Familiarity with enterprise messaging platforms and middleware components

Experience supporting secure federal environments or similar agencies

Experience with EAIB-like architectures

Familiarity with triage processes, middleware (JMS, MQ), DBs, and patch coordination

Strong incident response and technical troubleshooting

Integration operations mindset

Work Environment:

Professional Office Environment: Must be able to sit at a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.

Must be able to communicate regularly via telephone and verbally present information to employees, customers, and outside vendors.

Expected Hours of Work:

40 hours per week based on the customer's core operating hours.
