Proposal Manager – for top tier global law firm. This is a hybrid role and ca be based out of Washington, DC, NYC, or Boston, MA. This role specifically and solely focuses on proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and working with attorneys in this process. The Proposal Manager is a key member of the Marketing and Business Development Department. This role drives strategy/execution of large-scale, strategic RFP/RFI responses, management of the global panel development program, and other business development initiatives. Primary responsibilities for this role are managing responses to RFPs/RFIs from inception to final product, this role also provides has an opportunity to participate in interesting and important business development activities.
Duties include:
Lead the process for responding to large-scale, cross-practice, strategically important and/or firmwide RFPs/RFIs. Building strong relationships with the business development team and other departments that contribute to RFPs, Coach and prepare attorneys for client pitches and presentations. Ensure participation in post-RFP evaluations. Obtain feedback to propose process improvements. Maintain all RFP-related activities and materials within the centralized CRM system. Leading role in maximizing the panel appointments through the global panel development program. Working closely with relationship lawyers to identify opportunities to drive growth of client panels. Suggest and support additional improvements to the firm’s proposal and pitch process.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Must have at least three years of experience in law firm or professional services marketing and business development. Previous law firm experience is preferred. Proven project management skills. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership/initiative. Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Salesforce skills a plus. Prior experience with procurement portals such as Persuit and Ariba ideal. The salary range is $112k - $165k based on experience level and location.
