Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered clinical care within the specialty area.
Provide expert consultations and lead multidisciplinary team discussions.
Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
Stay updated on advancements in the field and integrate evidence-based practices.
Contribute to departmental strategy and development.
Requirements
Qualifications - Western training: American Board/ UK CCT/ Australia or NZ Royal College Fellowship/ Western European Specialisation Board.
Experience: 3 to 5 years' post board or specialisation certification experience depending on country of origin to qualify for Consultant with the Saudi Council
Licensure: Eligibility for registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) at Consultant level.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Arabic is necessary.
Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative approach to team leadership.
1 Manage, as required, patients in the Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit, or such other departments
as deemed necessary. Intensive Care work will entail, in liaison with the Director of Critical Care Medicine,
participation in a Critical Care Medicine roster.
2 The provision of a consultative service as required.
3 A Consultant Intensivist in Intensive Care Medicine with Specialist Registration in Anaesthesia shall provide
anaesthesia services for assigned operating lists.
4 Experience with ECMO and/or heart/lung transplantation is desirable but not mandatory.
5 A Consultant Intensivist with Specialist Registration in Medicine or Surgery shall provide consultant
expertise in
- Ward Rounds
- Out-Patient Clinics
- Operative Surgical Lists (if appropriate).
- On-call commitment
- Consultation
or other areas deemed appropriate by the hospital
