We are currently seeking a passionate Group Teacher/Assistant Director to help lead our Before and After School Program at Collingswood Elementary School in Collingswood, NJ.

In the absence of the Site Director, the Assistant Director will take charge of supervising and managing the program, performing all duties typically handled by the Site Director.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday

JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

PAY: $15.49 - $17 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supportive Leadership: Assist the Site Director in ensuring the program complies with all state regulations set by New Jersey.

Regulatory Oversight: Make sure both staff and the program follow OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the rules set by the host school.

Engaging Activities: Lead fun, hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. And yes, you’ll help with homework too—become the homework hero!

Management Duties: Take the lead on essential management responsibilities such as maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and helping the program run smoothly.

Communication: Keep open and consistent communication with parents and families through the Playground App to share updates and key moments from their child's day.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with your direct report to ensure they’re updated on daily events, addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner. By working together as a strong team, we will provide top-notch care, foster a positive environment, and tackle any challenges that come our way.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

An Associate's Degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Child Growth and Development, plus at least two years of experience working with children

OR

A Head Teacher endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals, Professional Impact New Jersey

QUALIFICATIONS:

Be prepared to undergo a background check, including fingerprinting, references, and SEL & SCR through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

You’re medically fit to perform the job’s duties and free from communicable diseases, including TB.

You have a warm, friendly, and upbeat demeanor with excellent people skills, whether interacting with children, parents, or team members. You’re also professional, reliable, and always punctual.

You are physically prepared to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and keep up with energetic kids.
