We cater for various events and functions where our bistro and restaurant offer specially prepared dishes by top chefs including a variety of kids’ meal. We also have daily specials available at our bistro which includes western and Asian style food items.
As a chef, the responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
• Assisting head chef in designing House special menu, estimating food & labour costs for functions, daily and weekly specials and selecting ingredients.
• Preparing, cooking & seasoning various dishes from the designed menu demonstrating cooking techniques.
• Examining the food to ensure the quality & quantity of food & ensure customer needs are met as expected.
• Supervising & training other kitchen staff.
• Supervising and coordinating the kitchen's operation, food preparation requirements, and waste management.
• Maintaining the smooth operation of various cooking equipment, such as ovens, grills etc.
• Ordering, and maintaining food stock, food portion control, waste management, and stock purchase (receipt and storage).
• Maintaining OH&S and hygiene in the workplace.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• A minimum C-IV level qualification in Cookery and hospitality management.
• 1-2 years of work experience in Western and Asian style restaurant settings.
• Must be available to work in roaring shifts including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Able to manage a busy work environment.
