About the Opportunity
We are hiring seven Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for full-time contract roles with a state university medical center, providing patient care across four locations in Beeville, TX, Gatesville, TX, Beaumont, TX, and New Boston, TX. This 90-day assignment offers the chance to work onsite at hospitals and clinics with rotating shifts and the possibility of extension or conversion to permanent roles.
As an LVN, you will deliver versatile care in various clinical settings such as inpatient, outpatient, ER, wound care, and critical care, with a focus on inmate health services.

Gatesville, TX
Beaumont, TX
New Boston, TX
Day Shift: 5:45 AM – 6:15 PM (4 positions)
Night Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM (3 positions)
Rotating Schedule: 4 days on, 3 nights off
Position Requirements
Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program
Current LVN license/permit to practice in Texas
1+ year of Med/Surg or Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) experience
AHA BLS certification (current)
IV Therapy Certified LVN (required)
Experience in inmate care is a plus
Important: Ensure all UTMB clearance documents are hand-signed before submission.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for inmate health services, including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with physician sick calls
Apply surgical dressings and provide wound care
Deliver emergency first aid and monitor inmates’ physical and emotional health
Support discharge planning and health care education for inmates
Maintain accurate medical records and manage supplies
Consult with physicians and staff on treatment plans
