Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for providing high-quality patient care, administering treatments, and coordinating with medical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. RNs work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and home care environments, delivering compassionate and evidence-based nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Treatment
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on medical history and current condition.
Monitor patient vital signs and report changes to physicians or nurse practitioners.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Assist with diagnostic tests, medical procedures, and post-operative care.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-care instructions.
2. Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with doctors, healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
Communicate with patients and families regarding medical conditions, care plans, and health promotion.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
3. Compliance & Safety
Follow all hospital and healthcare facility policies, procedures, and protocols.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Ensure infection control measures and safety precautions are adhered to at all times.
4. Specialized Duties (Depending on Work Setting)
Hospital RNs: Work in emergency rooms (ER), intensive care units (ICU), labor and delivery, or surgical units.
Clinic RNs: Assist in outpatient care, minor procedures, and chronic disease management.
Home Health RNs: Provide in-home patient care, wound care, and patient education.
Nursing Home RNs: Monitor elderly patients, assist with daily activities, and manage chronic conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
License: Must hold a current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred for critical care roles)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (for pediatric RNs)
Experience: Entry-level positions available; prior nursing experience preferred for specialized roles.

Salary & Benefits:
Salary Range: $65,000 – $120,000 per year (varies by location, experience, and specialization).
