Enterprise Risk Management, Director
The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about combining your enterprise risk management expertise with big picture business thinking to empower innovation, drive critical missions, and deliver enduring growth and value? At Booz Allen, you will join a global team of experts driven to excel and realize values-driven change for our clients, colleagues, and communities. We bring bold thinking to complex challenges stretching across AI/analytics, cyber, digital solutions, engineering, and consulting, and with industries ranging from defense to health, energy to international development.
On our team, you will serve as the Director of Booz Allen’s Enterprise Risk and Resilience (ER&R) program. ER&R is a high-visibility program within our company as the Director will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other senior leaders who are involved in decisions regarding firm strategy, operations, and associated enterprise risks. Accordingly, success in this role will require the Director to gain a firm understanding of our business and strategic objectives. Once in role, you will leverage your subject matter expertise, professional judgment, and input from senior firm leaders to provide strategic direction, and to evolve, and further integrate our existing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program to align with corporate strategy, culture, and industry best practices.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading and developing a team of risk professionals who assist with the identification, analysis, evaluation, and monitoring of enterprise-level risks. You and the team will collaborate with risk officers and other company leaders to design risk management frameworks, draft risk appetites, and you will partner with members of the legal, ethics and compliance department to support other initiatives related to the proactive identification and mitigation of compliance, reputational, or other risks facing our business.
The ER&R Director also plays a critical role in communicating with appropriate leaders and stakeholders about the firm’s risks to solicit input and ensure awareness. You will work directly with the Chief Operating Officer to lead and facilitate quarterly meetings of the ERM Steering Committee, which is comprised of senior executives from functions across the company. In this role, you will drive discussions with the ERM Steering Committee and other senior leaders as appropriate to identify and evaluate the likelihood and impact of enterprise-level risks, and the need for mitigation measures. You will provide periodic briefings and engage in dialogue with Booz Allen executive management on enterprise risks and mitigation status. Under your direction and leadership, the ER&R team will prepare quarterly updates for the Board of Directors on the ERM program, risk framework and profile, and mitigation effectiveness.
Guided by Booz Allen’s purpose and values, together we’ll anticipate and proactively prepare for the issues we’ll encounter tomorrow.
