Group Underwriter Sr. Health Insurance (Remote)

SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Group Underwriter Sr. for its Non-profit Health and services client. This person will oversee rating, administering, and underwriting new and renewed large-group commercial accounts in Oregon and Washington. Residents of the States of Washington, Oregon, and California can work 100% remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the mission actively and incorporate it into daily tasks.

Record keeping of the large-group commercial underwriting file following the plan's policy and regulatory requirements.

Keep all member, patient, medical staff, and other information private and confidential as necessary.

Exhibits favorable interactions with the public and with coworkers, managers, and other department staff in order to enhance productivity and foster excellent employee relations.

Encourage accident prevention, uphold a safe atmosphere, follow established policies and procedures, and detect and report potential liabilities in order to support and contribute to efficient safety and risk management initiatives.

Offer sales staff the necessary information regarding the underwriting policy as it relates to particular accounts.

The main underwriting contact for the administrative enrolment of potential groups and current accounts renewal. Plan the account enrollment process in collaboration with the sales and operations teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in mathematics, accounting, finance, or a closely related subject is required.

Three to four (3-4) years’ experience as a group medical insurance underwriter.

Requires strong excel skills for compiling data from multiple sources, summarizing and analyzing data sets.
