Parent and Family Services Coordinator

Description:

The Parent and Family Services Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of management and oversight for the Office of Parent and Family Services at Vincennes University. This includes interacting with students, parents, faculty, and staff. This is a part-time role (28 hours).

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain Parent & Family Services "brand voice" on social media: o Facebook page

o Keep

• Active member of the planning committee for Parent and Family Weekends and participate in activities on those weekends (fall and spring)

• Organize and provide presentations at the Parent and Family Orientations (fall and spring)

• Be a resource for parents and families regarding VU news, important updates, and events taking place on campus

• Provide students with the resources they need to navigate fife as a VU student

• Maintain the Parent and Family Services website

• Create a quarterly newsletter for Parents and Families

Expectations:

• Actively communicate with faculty and staff regarding the needs of students

• Collaborate with faculty and staff about ways to engage students, parents, and families

• Respond to social media (Facebook, Keep Learning) within 24 business hours

• Use Keep Learning, parent email, and Facebook as a way to educate, engage students, parents, and, families

• Be a positive, encouraging resource for parents, families, and students

• Provide informative presentations and be a resource at all Start VU Programs

• Be a resource and available on Move-In days

• Be present at all Student Affairs meetings and one-on-one supervisor meetings

• Build cohesive relationships with the Student Affairs team and the Academic Affairs team

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree required in a related field from an accredited college or university

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant and related experience

• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills

• Experience in budget management

• Effective problem solver, ability to make sound judgment and decisions

• Basic proficiency using office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom, Google Suite, and a high degree of comfort learning new technology

• Highly proficient with social media platforms, especially Facebook

• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
