16-bed adult unit that treats mental health and substance use disorders simultaneously is seeking a PMHNP to join its team. We work in conjunction with our Partial Hospitalization Program and other step-down models of care to transition the patient back to day-to-day activities.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, in consultation with the designated supervising psychiatrist, is primarily responsible for providing evaluation, brief treatment and medication prescription to the young adulthood through advanced age, and at any point along a physical continuum of the designated population. The need for psychiatric services may be generated by a primary mental health problem or secondary to co-existing health care problems.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of three years advanced clinical practice in psychiatric nursing.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited graduate program in psychiatric nursing
Massachusetts licensure as an advanced practice nurse, and board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Association and recognized to practice in an expanded role by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
