J Ribs Head Chef is responsible for all aspects of Kitchen production; the ideal candidate needs to work well with the team they oversee and ensures the variety and quality of each meal proudly served at J Ribs on State Street.


Restaurant Cooking experience 2+ years preferred.

Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management.

Outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Current knowledge of culinary soul food trends and optimized kitchen processes.

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.

Familiar with industry’s best practices (BBQ and Southern Cuisines)

Ability to work on your feet for 8 or more hours a day.

Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen/store environment.

Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis.
