Client Accounts Coordinator - for powerhouse global law firm in Washington, DC.
This position assists with implementation/maintenance of the firm’s timekeepers and client matters, coordinates the compliance process to ensure billing arrangements and outside counsel guidelines are in compliance.
Maintenance of new matter set-up for clients and matters including: fee arrangements, task and activity codes, VAT compliance, cost exception rates, payor, address, and overall formats. General maintenance of client and matter database, engagement letter tracking, matter reopening and closing, address changes, client/matter name changes, and billing lawyer name changes. Review/implementation of outside counsel guidelines and engagement letters to ensure billing terms and conditions are set-up and carried out in Accounting database. Ensure proper Senior Lawyer and Business Committee approvals are obtained. Maintain iManage with new business forms, engagement letters, waiver letters, non-disclosure letters, and other documentation relevant to matter preservation. Responsible for accurate set-up/maintenance of client files. Responsible for employee set-ups and personal accounts, including understanding of the various rate scales and modeling the appropriate rate assignment. Perform research and respond to inquiries from billing partners, clients, Client Accounts Manager and others, as requested.
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 2 years of client accounting/billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Proficiency with Elite, Excel, and similar programs. Fluency with billing software in a law firm. Strong organizational, communication skills, professionalism, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
