Responsibilities of the Welder:
Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams or work orders in preparation for welding metal components
Position work pieces and clamps together or assemble in jigs or fixtures
Insert electrode into holder and connect hoses and cables to obtain specified amperage, voltage or polarity
Install torch according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal
TIG weld metal parts or components together
Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increase sizes in metal parts, using welding equipment
Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead position
Peening (sandblasting)
Clean or degrease parts, using wire brush or portable grinder
Meet work deadlines established by the Company
Inspect finished work piece for conformance to specifications
Participate in housekeeping program of the Company for the production shop floor
Comply with the Company’s maintenance program
Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Control operation of equipment or systems
Install equipment to meet specifications
Requirements of the Welder:
HS Diploma/GED REQUIRED
5 years experience in TIG Welding on stainless steel products with low thickness
2 years experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
Knowledge of raw materials, welding tools, production processes and ability to inspect for quality
Good communication skills
Able to work within a team
