Overall Purpose of the Role:

Manage the quality engineering team to achieve goals in quality assurance aspect

Work in a team environment with suppliers and supervise the quality engineers to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements

Manage the customer specific requirements and supervise the quality engineers to offer technical support to suppliers

Develop, uphold and reinforce quality assurance system for ensuring that the products produced and the manufacturing processes meet quality standards

Develop and executive quality initiatives to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to

Maintain the robustness of product builds following new product introductions to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coach quality engineers to achieve the goals set in quality assurance aspect

Review and/or re-examine supplier validation audits carried out by quality engineers

Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards

Quality related problem solving and root cause analysis during design and manufacturing

Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements

Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities

Supervise the quality engineers that participating in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements

Qualifications, Experience Levels, Skills & Attributes:

Bachelor Degree, in electronic, manufacturing engineering or related disciplines

2-3 years managerial experience in quality functions with understanding of manufacturing logistics, service and life cycle management activities and supplier quality management and development

Experiences in handling product development projects

Understanding manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Analytical & problem-solving skills regarding technical and quality related issues of the products with ability to manage diverse scope
