Duties: Design and implement optimizers for Quintiq products, applying knowledge of Quill, mathematical programming, constraint programming, POA (Path Optimization Algorithm), graph programming, meta algorithm, and QPLC (Quintiq Project Life Cycle). Coach consultants in optimization and apply a deep understanding of Quintiq products and their application in different business areas. Research algorithms to best solve planning puzzles, mathematical programming, constraint programming, POA, graph programming, and meta-algorithm in order to tune optimizers built with those technologies. Collaborate with other data scientists on design, implementation, testing, and debugging of optimizers and guide other data scientists on steps for designing and debugging, including what pitfalls to avoid. Assist business consultants in designing planning solutions that incorporate optimizations, tune performance of optimizers, select the appropriate technology for the right type of puzzle using the framework of meta algorithm, and apply the appropriate technology to the right sub-puzzles. Design and conduct experiments with different optimization approaches for industry problems solved by Quintiq. Research literature to identify potential improvement ideas and keep track of recent developments and discuss with colleagues to embed new ideas in the company’s optimizers. Participate in optimization implementation process improvements with R&D.
40 hours per week. Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM.
Five (5) years of experience in Operations Research or as a Data Scientist. Experience must include:
Three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Machine Learning theory, probability and statistics, combinatorics, information theory, optimization, and game theory
- Artificial Intelligence Algorithms, including Regression, Deep Learning, Mixed-Integer Programming, and Genetic Algorithms
- Traditional and modern statistical learning and optimization techniques
Experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Relational database structure theory, including DBMS familiarity
- Python, R, and Scikit-learn
- Machine Learning Platform and tensorflow application solutions
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
