Our client, a large busy hospital located about an hour from Charlotte, NC, has a need for a Cardiovascular Surgical Tech First Assist to join their team.

Assists in nursing care and preparation of the cardiovascular surgical patient by performance of routine and specialized duties. Performs scrub duties and related procedures such as surgical room set-up for specialized cardiovascular patients. The skills required for this position include but are not limited to setting up and scrubbing the following cases: CABG, valve replacement, and aortice malformalities. May also perform surgical technician duties within the general OR population. Uses principles of aseptic technician to establish and maintain a sterile field. Maintains organized work area and participates in daily unit duties.

2 CV surgeons right now but we are recruiting another one right now.

They typically do anywhere from 7-24 hearts a month, but this person would also come in for Lung cases.

They would be required to take call. We are looking for someone who can first assist, they do not have to be certified first assist but we would like them to have some experience with first assist.

Job Requirements

Minimum of 1-2 years of cardiovascular experience as a surgical tech.

First Assist experience strongly preferred.
