The Escrow Officer is responsible for pre-closing, coordinating with agents & lenders, preparing settlement statements, scheduling and conducting the closing, issuing title policies, preparation and recording of documents and making appropriate disbursements associated with the settlement process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review and clear title; identify underwriting concerns; prepare the settlement statements
Order all items applicable to a transaction, such as tax certifications, inspections, surveys, payoff statements, conveyancing (specific to PA); bring downs/updates; Prepare settlement statement and closing packages
Prepare and make bank deposits; obtain funding approval if applicable; and disburse funds in accordance with the signed settlement statement
Complete post-closing duties including recordings, balancing to Simplifile report, if applicable; preparing wire transfers and final title policies
Prepares or assists with preparation of reports, such as Capture, Escrow Trial Balance and Application/Closing Reports
Communicates frequently with leadership team and JV Partners regarding status of operations
Maintains knowledge and seeks out industry developments that affect the title insurance operations
Ensures that their operation is in compliance with regulatory issues
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must have a minimum of 2 years escrow officer/closing experience performing the title and escrow duties of this position
Must have high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
Active notary and title license
Demonstrated effective customer service experience to a diverse audience to enhance service delivery
Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines
Complies with all company and site policies and procedures
Remains current in profession and industry trends
Knowledge of title industry software, RamQuest preferred
Familiar with title and escrow regulations in the state where employed
Familiar with E-Recording where applicable, Simplifile preferred
Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
