Analyst
Role of the IT Business Analyst
We are looking
for a talented hand on IT Business Analyst, who enjoys being the
liaison between
engineering IT solutions and business users for a growing
company.
* 2-5 years experience writing detailed business requirements
gathering
* Experience with formal software development life cycles (SDLCs)
and business analysis methodologies
* Solid understanding of popular programming tools, software
packages and languages (e.g. JAVA, VB, C#, guidewire, salesforce)
* Ability to engage in multiple tasks simultaneously
*
* Insurance Industry experience
* Strong management and production skills, including a thorough
understanding of how to interpret client business needs and
translate them into application and operational requirements
* P&C or Insurance industry highly desired.
Responsibilities
of the Business Analyst
-The Business
Analysts, gather requirements using interviews, document
analysis, requirements
workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions,
use cases,
scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis;
-Critically
evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile
conflicts,
decompose high level information into details, abstract up from
low-level
understanding to a general understanding, and distinguish user
requests from
the underlying true needs;
-Proactively
communicate and collaborate with external and internal clients to
analyze information
needs and functional requirements and document them as needed;
-Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to
establish the
technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and
performance needs;
-Be the liaison between business, technology and support teams.
Requirements
of the Business Analyst
* 2-5 years experience writing detailed business
requirements
* 2-5 years business analysis experience in an external
client facing environment
* Experience with formal software development life
cycles (SDLCs) and business analysis methodologies
* Solid understanding of popular programming tools,
software packages and languages (e.g. JAVA, VB, C#,
guidewire, salesforce)
* Ability to engage in multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strong management and production skills, including a
thorough understanding of how to interpret client business
needs and
translate them into application and operational requirements
* P&C or Insurance industry highly desired.
Education
* A Degree in the Computer Science, or Information
Technology discipline
* Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience
(or an equivalent combination of education and experience )
* Experience in requirements gathering and documentation.
* Previous programming experience preferred but not
required.
* Must have ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
and group presentation skills.
Excellent technical, analytical and troubleshooting
skills
