Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery
Seeking a Physician Assistant.The Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Health Practitioner position has clinical, procedural, administrative and educational responsibilities in the care of patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgery.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Heart & Vascular Director of Advanced Practice Nursing, the Cardiothoracic Surgery AHP will have a critical role in the inpatient setting, with both team member and individual duties.
These responsibilities will include preoperative and postoperative patient examination and assessment, diagnosis and planning; treatment implementation, coordination and continuity; performance of specific procedures; development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality of care; education of patients, families and other health care practitioners.
Minimum two years related Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular patient care experience as an Advanced Practitioner.
Two years ICU experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a Cardiothoracic ICU/CCU/Cardiovascular
Two years OR First Assist and/or EVH experience at a high volume center
Active Physician Assistant licensure in State of California
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification
Current PA National Board Certification
Active and/or transferable DEA License to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical pr
Completed a APA recognized graduate Master’s Degree program as a Physician Assistant
Five years of OR First Assist and EVH experience
