AREA SUPERVISOR – CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING
Client is seeking An Area Manager for their Specialty Chemical facility. This person would be responsible for leading shift operators on existing chemical and synthesis and purification systems. This person will lead and motivate 12-14 operators to meet production targets as well as maintain safety and deliver Continuous Improvements. This person needs to have experience with heat transfer, mass transfer, boilers, distillation towers, reactors, etc.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 Plus Bonus & Excellent Benefit & Relocation Programs
The Area Supervisor needs to have experience in manufacturing of chemicals or other process industry and will be the go between for Management and operating staff. You will develop and execute standard operating procedures (SOP) in order to meet production goals. This position reports to the Area Manager and will serve as the primary implementer of operational goals and objectives. You will also interface with area Engineers, Quality, Safety and Maintenance to meet expectations. The Supervisor must be able to overcome routine obstacles related to staffing, equipment, facilities and raw materials without management direction. You MUST have understanding of work Safety practices and environmental regulations in a PSM environment.
Seeking someone with 5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience in a Chemical or closely related Process industry where you will have experience with heat transfer, mass transfer, boilers, distillation towers and reactors. The Area Supervisor will set expectations, accountability and daily performance to meet company goals. You will also be responsible for 2nd level troubleshooting in evaluating and correcting failures in the manufacturing processes. Some of the processes include catalytic reactions, hydrogenation, distillation separation and hydrogen reformer operations. You will have “Hands-on” work as to lead by example.

Requirements for this Chemical Engineer role:
1. Bachelor Degree in Technical or related field (will consider non-technical degree if there is significant manufacturing experience to include the above experience.
2. 5 or more years of experience in a supervisor or leadership role in a Chemical or Process industry
3. Must have some experience with heat transfers, mass transfers, boilers, distillation towers, reactors, etc
4. Knowledge of catalytic reactions, hydrogenation, distillation, etc.
5. Experience with troubleshooting manufacturing processes
6. Experience developing SOP’s
