Your Role

Join a transformation to generate insights, empower decision making, and deliver company value! Your role will support the project to take ownership of and enhance functionality of the UL projections model and process, which is currently performed by consultants. This role will become the subject matter expert on our UL products and determine the appropriate modeling approaches in the UL Projections model. Other project components include liability and asset inforce builds, projection model testing and enhancement, model output processing, and development of new analytics. Upon completion of the project, this role will continue to enhance, maintain, and operate the model and processes going forward.

Your Responsibilities

Complete deep-dive into UL product specifications and corresponding model functionality

Perform cellular and aggregate level testing to understand and confirm model functionality

Build replicating tools to demonstrate consistent model functionality relative to product specifications

Work with current model users to understand and prioritize product features most in need of review, then determine and implement model changes as needed

Maintain a status log to track change items as open, pending, or closed

Back-test model against historical results to confirm process and understanding

Rebase model and processes to reflect updates and enhancements during transition

Support version upgrade to latest MG-ALFA version

Produce baseline, process, and change management documentation

Train the Run-The-Shop Team to execute the Cash Flow Testing (CFT) process

Upon completion of the UL Projections Transition Project, you will maintain the model, execute CFT and Option-Based Valuation (OBV) processes, and complete ad-hoc reinsurance requests

Your Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Science, Actuarial Science, Business/Finance, IT, Engineering or related major involving significant technical/analytical coursework

FSA, near FSA or career ASA with commensurate experience (i.e. 5 + years of relevant work experience within insurance or actuarial industry)

3 + years of life insurance experience, preferably UL focused

Experience with actuarial systems, such as MG-ALFA, PolySystems, or AXIS

Inquisitive mindset with desire to ask questions and dig deep into models

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to meet project deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Programming skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to interact professionally and effectively in a team environment

Results oriented, accountable for performance, and willingness to take ownership of projects

Additional Qualifications

Knowledge of UL regulatory environment (e.g. Statutory Reserves, CFT, etc.) - Preferred

Programming experience, such as SAS, VBA, etc. - Preferred

Familiarity with data visualization and analytics software, such as TIBCO Spotfire - Preferred
