Our client Company, a leading manufacturer of liquid industrial coatings is seeking an experienced coating sales professional who is passionate about developing new business, and being truly rewarded for results. This role requires an individual with a minimum of 5 years industrial coatings experience, assessing customer requirements and providing technical direction on product requirements while assessing competitive gaps. The successful candidate will be a successful hunter, but will also have the capability of maintaining existing customer relations as well as developing strategic plans to expand into adjacent markets.
Key responsibilities include:
Drive sales cycles to increase sales.
Existing Customer Retention:
(a.i.1) Insure that quality products are maintained at competitive prices, on-time deliveries are maintained.
(a.i.2) Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
(a.i.3) Provide service to customers by making routine sales calls that include inventory management and surveying customer to insure orders are on time and products are consistent in quality.
(a.i.4) Insure that complaints are resolved in a timely manner to customer satisfaction.
New Business Development:
(a.i.1) The sales representative is responsible for new business development process, which is achieved through continuous identification of new business opportunities achieved by prospecting over the phone, using sales leads and utilizing state manufacturers directories.
(a.i.2) The sales representative is responsible for making at least one new call be week and running at least one new trial per month.
Maintain Profit Margin
Provide guidance to the technical organization on customer and market product requirements.
Manage presentation of client offering to target customers.
Develop sales plans to grow in adjacent market segments.
Key requirements include:
Record of sales success in industrial coatings end uses excluding powder and wood coatings. Typical segments could include ACE, commercial vehicles, body builders, trailer manufacturers, industrial maintenance various OEM metal fabrication facilities.
Entrepreneurial in nature, ability to drive sales cycles from opportunity identification through closing.
Strong team work orientation to work within a team that includes technical service, existing business account managers, and support groups like product management and formulation chemists.
Strong planning skills to manage technical presentations, demonstrations, line trails, and launches.
Ability to handle a broad range of opportunities and determine best matches for internal capabilities. Some level of strategic analysis capability is highly desired.
Ability to translate customer process conditions and performance requirements into coating specification recommendations.
Ability to travel in support of business development.
Strong understanding of the various market segments.
