PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Civil Designer will work alongside engineers and designers on civil and transport infrastructure projects across Asia Pacific region.

ACTIVITIES: Overall responsibilities include:

•Working on subdivisions, stormwater, sewerage, road works and civil structures

•Strong understanding of design processes, analysing industry codes, by-laws and site requirements

•Prepares conceptual and formal design drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12D and/or Revit Software in accordance with statutory requirements and standards

•Operates computer aided drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce detailed designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records

•Supervises, coordinates and inspects the work of drafters, technicians and technologists on construction projects

•Ensures Quality Assurance

•Checks data using different file type such as: ASCII, DXF, PTS and others

•Checks data is correct and in respective layers, code numbers and datums

•Creates DTMs for preparation of design

•Extracting cut and fill volumes for earthworks

•Guides and mentors younger staff members

SKILLS:

•Be able to apply engineering knowledge in planning and conducting projects having scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of difficult and responsible assignments

•Ability to devise new approaches and/or apply existing criterion in new ways and draw conclusions from comparative situations

•Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high paced environment, excellent organization, multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize according to importance and urgency

•Works as part of a team as well as working autonomously

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Civil Engineering field

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

•Previous experience in the construction and consulting industry
