Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to ensure timely permit submission at the county and city level. The Permit Runner accomplishes this by working closely with team members, builders, and city/county agencies, to proactively identify requirements and potential roadblocks and facilitating resolutions so projects remain on schedule.

Essential Job Functions:

Be competent in using reports and dashboards within Salesforce to effectively maintain and manage pipeline

• Be responsive and professional – through email and calls

• Monitor all upcoming and in progress projects

• Attend bi-weekly new home permit team meetings

• Develop and maintain a good rapport with AHJs and builders

• Have a general understanding of state and local code requirements

• Always include permit coordinator in all updates and communication

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Manage Pipeline:

Apply for Permit

• Prioritize all projects by rough wire date and needs of the builder

• Prepare all application and AHJ specific documentation needed to submit

• Submit in phases

• Review designs for correctness

• Look for common drafting errors

• Stay up to date with AHJ requirements and timelines

• Update all notes and tasks

• plan check # and ETA

Permit Pickup

• Monitor projects in permit pick up

• Check with AHJs on projects that are passed ETA - update notes

• Pickup permits and approved plans

• Check permits for correctness and common errors

• Scan & Upload all documentation for posterity

• Update all notes and tasks

Permit Drop Off

• Notify superintendent of approved plans and permits

• organize drop off day and time

• Create a receipt of permits that will be dropped off

• Drop off all original approved permits and plans to the community superintendent

• Have the superintendent sign receipt

• Update notes and tasks

Permit Reworks

• Monitor all rework tasks

• Investigate and research what is needed to complete the rework task

• Communicate with the team and builder on updates and throughout the process

• Update notes and tasks once rework is completed

• Scan & Upload all documentation for posterity

• Distribute any updated documents and plans to the builder

Master Plan Submittal

• Coordinate with the team and AHJ on new submittals

• Prepare all application and AHJ specific documentation needed to submit

• Review designs for correctness - Look for common drafting errors

• Communicate with the team and builder on updates and throughout the process

• Scan & Upload all documentation for posterity

• Drop off approved master plans to the superintendent
