Contract

Process / Simulation Engineer

Play a vital role in complex engineering projects, with a supporting back ground of management.

To help manage a design team of Project / Simulation engineers with specific skills within the Engineering department, to meet functional objectives as well as corporate objectives.

Off-line Programming Management support will take on some ownership to manage a design team of Off-line programming engineers with specific skills within the Engineering department, to meet functional objectives as well as corporate objectives.

Process/Simulation Engineering Manager is not directly affiliated with project teams, other than ensuring that goals and objectives align with the organization's overall strategy and vision.

As a Process / Simulation Engineer would play a vital role in complex engineering projects core responsibility for:

Use of technical expertise and knowledge of computer simulation technologies:

To develop automation concepts for manufacturing systems

To test the performance, durability, safety and functionality of engineering solutions in a virtual environment.

Configure Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) in the simulation software

Develop off-line complete robot programs with multiple robot brands (Comau, Kuka, ABB, Fanuc...).

Verify the feasibility of solutions and processes.

Find and solve issues before the manufacturing phase.

Validate the cycle time of each station/line.

Optimize robot programs and find solutions in case of cycle time issues.

Duties and Responsibilities (these are the position's essential duties and is not an all-inclusive list)

Manage Industrial processes and Robotic application automation projects as assigned

Feasibility study and process engineering

Define the Robotics and Human operation in the 3D environment

Equipment selection (robots, conveyors, tool, etc.)

Tool validation to check feasibility

Develop 3D layout for the robotic simulation

Preparing 3D models using CAD software's

Develop kinematics of 3D models

Weld/Joint distribution, gun selection, gun sectioning

Technology process path distribution (sealing, arc weld )

Workout different option and Layout

Cycle time estimation

Validation of processes in work cells / stations

Simulate Robot moves to verify cycle time, reachability and feasibility

Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic regulations

Variants analysis

Development of robot OLP's to verify reachability of all process and service position

Develop robot programs using teach pendant of the major robot brands

Download a complete offline robot program

Configure Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) in the simulation software

Validate the cycle defined in the cycle diagrams

Generate a precise evaluation of the cycle time through a detailed cycle simulation

Optimize weld distribution to improve the cycle time

Generate robot safety configurations.

Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomics regulations.

Apply robot signal logic with SW and VC team

Support VC team during debug phase

Interacting with stakeholder (Customers, System Engineer, project team) to get project input details

Development according to customer prescribed documentation and specification

Reviews with Customer

Design review with System Engineer and project team

Development of technical documentation for the projects executed

Knowledge Sharing and documentation

Support System Standard department for the standardization of common processes and automation solutions

As a Process / Simulation Supporting Manager Duties may include:

Provide leadership to the team managed and act as first point of escalation

Work closely with the Engineering Projects Team (Project Engineer and System Engineers), to assign resources according to growth plan and competences to achieve better efficiency on Customer Projects.

Perform resource planning and monitor saturation.

Perform periodical skills mapping of the internal resources to define personal training programs and growth plan

Coach, mentor and retain best talent

Staff Recruitment (Interviews)

Staff Performance Appraisals (as assessor or co-assessor)

Scout market evolution of the engineering (e.g. new technologies, materials, joining technologies, production processes, competitors and partners best practices) and supplier products. Perform Engineering benchmarking among competitors.

Collect, define and propose Engineering Kaizen projects, coordinate with other functions non-Engineering Kaizen projects.

Manage NCs of his team to identify systematic issues, main source, etc.

Identify and address the inefficiency to make sure that the performance of his function are improved continuously, and also to enhance cross-function integration

Establish standards and best practices.

Develop improvement initiatives

Produce functional KPI (Timing, Costs, Quality) and undertake corrective actions at Country level to help the compliance of the organisation's policies and requirements

Assess Engineering partners competence and performance

Collaborate to certify Engineering partners

Participate to the Review of the Project Portfolio Performance

Collaborate to define the make/buy strategy for the Forecast project portfolio

Collaborate to define the Strategic Engineering Plan

Collaborate to define yearly budget for training, licenses and improvement initiatives.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office tool (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ...) or equivalent tool for word processing, calculation, presentation

Experience in at least one of the major 2D Cad tool (Autocad, others...)

Experience in at least one of the major 3D Modeling tool (CATIA, NX, Solidworks, others...) and the ability to quickly self-learn any of the remaining

Experience in at least one of the major 3D Simulation tool (Delmia, Robcad, Process Simulate, NX, others...) and the ability to quickly self-learn any of the remaining.

Proficient with at least one of major product/brand (Comau, ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, Motoman, Kawasaki, other...).

May be required to retrieve backups from production robots and extract relevant information or upload programs to simulation tools with minimal support.

Required to develop OLP programs from simulations and ensure that they work in actual robots with minimal support.

Hands on experience processing for at least one of the Automation technology process

(Spot Welding, Arc Welding, Sealer/Dispense, Riveting, Palletization, Robotic Material, Handling, Paint, ...)

Ability to create well-written, concise technical reports discussing project results as well as create professional documents/videos from simulations that illustrate concepts. As a Process / Simulation Engineer Manager.

Experience and knowledge in Automation Systems;

Client's Solutions (standard and special application).

Market OEM application and new solution.

Excellent organizational skills with a particular focus upon managing details;
