Recommends hardware and software solutions, products and configurations that are technically sound, secure, supportable, cost effective and meet internal customer requirements.
Diagnoses complex system problems and implements solutions.
Manages and monitors system performance to ensure high availability and customer satisfaction.
Helps to define and adheres to common standards across the team and organization
Creates clear documentation and participates in knowledge sharing within the team
Participates in a 24x7 on call rotation, supporting many different systems
Performs occasional hands on work in the datacenter
Works incidents and service requests according to priority to ensure satisfactory customer service and SLA compliance.
Ensures the backup and recoverability of systems
Interfaces with vendor technical support organizations
