Duties may include all or a portion of the following:
·Perform inspection, balancing and welding of weights to rubber rolls following established procedures or specific instruction. Operate electric arc welding equipment to weld a variety of parts of steel plate, angles and sheet metal of various gauges to produce sub-assemblies and complete assemblies of company products. Voltage, rod and other variables prescribed or selected within limits. Assemble parts in jigs or fixtures, bolt or clamp to hold in position. Straighten parts using sledge hammer and level by sight. Weld for mechanical strength and vibration. Indicate and reinspect roll shafts for Total Indicator Reading.
·Perform a variety of duties to operate resistance welding equipment to spot weld a normal range of sheet metal and other parts following established methods and procedures. Position parts on machine or fixture and operate as necessary to apply welds per prescribed location and frequency.
Responsible for inspection of parts, SPC, TPM, teamwork, accuracy, inventory control duties as required, total quality, employee involvement, cost reductions, and training new operators.
Maintain necessary records. Move materials as necessary in the performance or duties. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Perform other duties as required or directed.
