Hospital Seeks An Outpatient Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, with 2+ to 5 years’ experience, to join our Family Practice group. Job Description: Working autonomously, the nurse practitioner (NP) conducts physical assessments, performs and interprets diagnostic tests, diagnoses and treats common conditions, provides screenings, interventions, counseling, and prescribes medications as needed to patients in specified age categories. The nurse practitioner is supported in their delivery of high-quality care with the use of an electronic medical record (EMR) system that guides and supports evidence-based practice throughout patient visits. Local collaborating physicians are continually available for consultations and mentorship. Specific duties include: Providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of common family illnesses for patients of all ages, Ensuring patient information, visit history, referrals, lab follow-ups, phone calls, and consults are carefully and completely documented in the EMR, Assisting patients with the management of their well-being with vaccinations and patient education. Identifying opportunities within the community for the development of outreach activities.
Requirements: Master’s Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program, Licensed in the state of Maryland, BLS, EMR-All Scripts, Newborn to Geriatric. Ideal Candidate: Master’s Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited school, Must be willing to care for pediatric to adult patients, Must be an experienced provider of at least 2 years, State of Maryland Employment licensed to practice as Advanced Practice Nurse, Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills, Outstanding organization skills and ability to multi-task Initiative, creativity, problem-solving ability, adaptability, and flexibility, Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously, Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues as necessary to provide quality care, Ability to consistently present a friendly, welcoming, and professional public-facing appearance, On Call responsibility, Must have and maintain BLS certification.
