~Lead engineering, robotics, and computer programming activities (after-school programs, in-school field trips, and camps) with children.
~Maintain discipline while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all children.
~Bachelor degree or degree-in-progress in Science, Math, Engineering, and/or Education a plus.
~Interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), and its role in today’s economy. Dependable, responsible, can-do attitude, and have the ability to work in fast changing environments.
~Superior communication skills with fun-loving personality.
~Ability to maintain positive relationships with parents, children, co-workers, and clients.
~Have an understanding of basic scientific and engineering principles.
~Eagerness to learn, create, tinker, and is comfortable with technology.
~Flexibility to work in various locations in Sarasota County (Sarasota, Nokomis, Venice, Englewood). ~Professionalism is a must, as we are looking for role models for young children.
~Prior experience working with PK-8 children, and knowledge of computer programming and coding are a plus.
~Programs are dynamic with lots of hands-on activities. You must be able to sustain a high level of energy.
~Expect to stand up to 95% of the time during classes; able to bend or assume postures in low level positions to make eye-contact, and work with children on the floor as needed.
~Able to perform activities with children involving play, jump, and run, in- and outdoors.
~Must possess acceptable hearing and visual abilities to monitor the working environment and children’s well being.
~Hours and locations vary – Elementary and Middle schools, home schools, Boy and Girl Scouts, community centers, and STEM For Kids Sarasota location.
