Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary consults and participate in the critical care rotation. Able to triage patients to determine appropriate location based on level of care required. Work cooperatively with the patient care team to ensure the best possible outcomes for each patient. This would include family discussions regarding treatment plans, goals of care, and end of life discussions. Engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of overall professional responsibility. Perform procedures including but not limited to bronchoscopy, EBUS bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line placement, arterial line placement, bedside ultrasound. Patient care activities and job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge.
2 years of experience as a physician in pulmonary and critical care with demonstrated experience in EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) bronchoscopy. Completion of ACGME accredited Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship program. Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Board Eligibility or Certification in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Valid license to practice medicine in Massachusetts required.
