Responsible for planning the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. Responsible for process development through kick-off and production launch. Design the production process in concert with product development for all assigned products to ensure a more optimized product and efficient manufacturing launch and to support any issues encountered in the producing factories. Measure and analyze time studies and standards for labor utilization and efficiency improvements. Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Confer and partner with management and engineering staff at all levels to implement plans and recommendations. Develop management systems for cost analysis and financial planning. Participate in product development teams. Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets and new business proposal activities. Coordinate project activities in conjunction with overseas factories, Program Management, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, etc. Proactively manage critical path and open action items to ensure successful completion. Ensure project complies with appropriate IATF, TS16949, Advanced Production Quality Process (APQP) processes and procedures. Ensure product compliance with appropriate customer requirements and processes. Responsible for implementation of design for manufacturability improvements for all products launched. Responsible for product specific factory budget forecasts for new product planning and communicating these forecasts to remote factories for inclusion in future factory budgets. Responsible for coordination of product launch activates between design center and remote factory. Responsible for auditing labor standards for company designed products being manufactured in remote factories. Responsible for training of internal and external personnel in Industrial engineering best practices. Responsible for integrating remote factory standards into manufacturing process design (examples include stress free processes, dust free processes, ergonomic standards, material handling and distribution standards, and assembly line or cell layout and material design).
REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field of study followed by five (5) years of progressive experience in the specialty field.
