Job Title: Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the proper functioning of the facility’s Shipping and Receiving departments to ensure the ability to support the manufacture of customer’s orders to their specifications.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Do or assign and instruct others in the receiving of raw materials and non-raw materials
Do or assign and instruct others in the assembling of Finished Goods shipments to customers
Ensure shipping/receiving transactions in system are accurate. Address discrepancies.
Ensure warehouse locator system is accurate. Address discrepancies.
Oversees facility’s shipping/receiving supplies.
Process improvements as relates to efficient movement of products
Responsible for team’s compliance with 6S programs, safety and environmental
Create documents such as bills of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices, NAFTA and other export declarations with accuracy.
Any and all freight claims due to damages or service failures require documentation and follow-up to minimize negative impact to Division.
Conduct departmental training as required
As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste. The initial training of how to properly dispose of hazardous waste will be performed by the Environmental and Safety Coordinator or the department supervisor. Annual training of the same will be performed by the Environmental and Safety Coordinator.
Responsible for adherence to safety rules by all direct reports, promoting safe work practices, coaching and any necessary safety training required in addition to that provided by the corporate safety trainer. Also is responsible for stopping and reporting any safety violations when observed throughout the facility.
Preferred education level: High school diploma plus Associates degree from a two-year
technical college or a 4-year university or equivalent experience strongly preferred
Familiar with DOT/IATA/IMDG regulations for hazardous materials.
Knowledge of HAZ-MAT shipping regulations
DOT/HAZ-MAT/IATA certifications preferred
Forklift certification strongly preferred
Understands freight rates, load procedures, and weight limitations
Willing to work in a team environment
Good math and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. High school diploma or higher required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse environment involving hazardous materials.
3. Familiar with DOT/IATA/IMDG regulations for hazardous materials and knowledge of HAZ-MAT shipping regulations.
4. DOT/HAZ-MAT/IATA certifications preferred.
5. Forklift certification strongly preferred.
6. Must be local.
