Staff Hunters is recruiting for a Demand Planner on a Direct Hire basis for a Seacoast client.
The Demand Planner is responsible for recognizing and managing customer demand for all Value Added and Commodity products. You will forecast anticipated demand to the company and coordinate the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Process involving Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, Master Production Scheduling and Operations.
As the Demand Planner, a typical day might include the following:
Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning. Completion of job responsibilities will be through both internal and external contacts and accomplished in a timely, ethical, and courteous manner.
Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase outs.
Interaction with Finance, Procurement and Operations to develop short and long term plans, which can act as the basis for strategic/tactical and financial planning.
Interaction with the Sales and Marketing organizations to analyze volume trends and maintain SKU level forecasts in the system; identify the drivers of variance in monthly forecasts, quantify anticipated incremental sales from marketing events/promotions, new product launches as well as the decrement of sales for end of life strategies.
Articulate the Demand plan and related documentation for the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
Engage Sales, Marketing and Procurement to develop a collaborative forecast. You will provide trend analysis and will develop forecast related assumptions, upside potential and risk to be documented. You will facilitate the communication between Demand stakeholders and Supply Chain to maximize inventory utilization and operational efficiencies.
Manage, develop and facilitate the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Monthly Process, consisting of a Workshops, Demand Review, Supply Review and the Executive S&OP meetings.
Seek to understand, how the company plants and supply chain will need to respond to demand for products and services. Ensure early focus on any potential gaps in business performance.
Drive the process design, tools/templates, systems, deliverables, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), success metrics and change management as it relates to IBP/S&OP.
Lead Demand Planning Meetings, coordinating the collaborative effort to develop consensus on monthly and annual sales forecasts for the business channels striving to continually improve forecast accuracy. Assist in developing short and long term plans which act as the basis for supporting company wide goals and objectives.
Engage forecast leads resulting in a detailed sales forecast for the 12-18 month demand plan in support of an Integrated Business Planning (IBP/S&OP) process. Collaborate with key partners (both internal and external) in sales, marketing and finance to obtain consistent forecast inputs and address gaps that may arise.
Ensure forecasts are updated in a timely manner. Monitor & improve forecast accuracy (Quality & Bias) by diagnosing issues, identifying the drivers of variance (exceptions) and by adjusting for abnormal demand. Review and manage statistical forecasting methods where this strategy is implemented. Track Sales forecast KPI’s monthly vs. established targets. Continually improve the process and providing feedback to the business channel.
