One of our clients is seeking a Staff Pharmacist at a community pharmacy that is close to the Port McNeill area. The ideal candidate should be personable, detail oriented and demonstrate an ability to remain calm under a variety of situations. This is also a great position for someone who is looking to expand their knowledge and gain new experiences.

The position is full-time with weekly hours ranging from 35 – 50 hours a week, with the benefit of a 3 weeks paid vacation. Candidates should be well versed in the system Kroll and have a minimum of 6 months experience.

The location of this pharmacy is close by pristine coastlines, forests, and tranquil islands. With one of the mildest climates in Canada, there are activities to do year round without worrying about the weather. With activities ranging from wildlife viewing, kayaking, hiking, shopping and street festivals, there is something to do for everyone.

Job Description:

•Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment and health-care supplies

•Provide information and advice regarding administration, usage, drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage

•Ensure proper storage and disposal of pharmaceutical products/medications in a manner consistent with legal and professional obligations

•Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently and safely

•Maintain customer medication profiles and records, including but not limited to pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, etc.

•Operate pharmacy computer, register equipment and other assigned tools.

•Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information, as well as all pharmacy proprietary information at all times

•Evaluate appropriateness of prescription orders with consideration for patient safety and legal requirements

•Provide additional counselling in person or over the phone as required.

Qualifications:

•Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy

•Licensed in British Columbia

•Minimum 6 months

•Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

•Ability to work efficiently individually and as part of a team

•Experience using the computer system Kroll
