WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintain moderately complex databases and participates in the design and definition of databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation and statistical methods.
Participate in patching and upgrading databases, reports and Business Intelligence systems.
Participate in the design and maintenance of logical and physical data models (relational & dimensional), data dictionary and database volumetric.
Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
Maintain database dictionaries, monitors standards, performance and procedures and integration of systems through database design.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of database information and requirements for maximizing database potential.
Maintain standards and documentation.
Assist senior database development staff in the identification and resolution of production and/or applications.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or Technical discipline.
7 years’ experience or 3 additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.
Good understanding of database backup and recovery procedures.
Experience reviewing and applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Experience with MS SQL Server BI development, SQL; developing stored.
Experience working with customers in the Department of Defense (DoD)procedures, triggers, functions.
Familiarity with supporting application development and deployment initiatives/efforts.
Strong communication and documentation skills - ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to include high-quality technical documentation and diagrams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging and dynamic environment.
Ability to apply analytical skills related to problem resolution and keen attention to detail.
Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn new technologies.
This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
