The Receiving Supervisor works with and directs the Receivers in terms of duties that are required on a daily basis to ensure prompt and efficient handling of all products, packaging and supplies.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supervise the activities of the Receiving Department to ensure timely and accurate execution of all duties.
Responsible for the receiving of raw materials and non raw materials
Responsible for the receiving and processing of returned materials.
Responsible for the transfer of finished goods to & from the warehouse in a timely and safe manner.
Responsible for the receiving/unloading of bulk tank wagons safely and efficiently per procedures.
Ensure receipt transactions in ERP are accurate - addressing any/all discrepancies.
Initiate process for improvements to efficient movement of products/inventory and services.
Coordinate any maintenance required for receiving department equipment ensuring safety and preventive maintenance schedules are maintained.
Maintain adequate supplies for the department.
Assist in interviewing prospective new hires.
Train new employees in department procedures and recognize the training needs of current employees.
Responsible for team’s compliance with 6S programs, safety and environmental requirements.
Conduct performance reviews on a semi-annual basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred education level: two year Associate’s Degree in business or a related field.
Experience level preferred: One to three years in logistics with supervisory experience
Proficiency in basic shop math.
Familiar with Code of Federal Regulations (49CFR).
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office machinery.
Excellent communication and team building skills.
Willing to work in a team environment
Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner
Has an understanding of hazardous waste materials disposal requirements
Forklift certification strongly preferred
