Duration : 12 Month (Extendable)


Position Title: Quality Control Technician - Mechanical

Shift: 1st Shift, Overtime as Required


• Perform mechanical and visual inspections of incoming materials

• Record in the established business system(s), the status of the inspection of all assigned parts » Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects

• Interface with all internal and external Customers and Suppliers, including Source Inspectors

• Ensure product quality, workmanship, and conformance to all applicable processes, requirements, and regulatory standards in accordance with the established Quality Assurance System » Ability to work with minimal supervision

Required Job Qualifications:

• Candidate must pass both the written and hands-on Level 2 Mechanical Inspection exam

• Exam includes general measurement procedures, sampling techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and usage of measuring tools

• Previous experience and/or demonstrated ability to inspect metal and ceramic parts

• Previous experience with precision measurement tools and instruments

• Previous experience in the use of microscopes, precision gauges, thread gages, and jigs

• Previous experience with mechanical testing equipment

• Interpretation and application of drawings: GD & T standards, procedures and specifications

• Ability to plan and set up inspections, evaluations and tests with related equipment

• Ability to train others, work with minimal supervision, and develop procedures

• Candidate must meet the following education and experience requirements.

Note: The experience requirement may be waived at the discretion of the Level Ill Examiner

• I-year of satisfactory performance as Level 1 in the corresponding inspection, examination test category or class, or

• High school graduation plus 3-years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or

• Completion of college level work leading to an Associate Degree in a related discipline plus I-year related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or

• Four-year college graduation plus six months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications and SAP

• Ability to understand non-standard jobs, such as a repair or New Product Introductions (NPI)

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities

• Machining experience
