Primary Function

The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or internal production, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal customers and shipping accurate and timely orders to external customer requirements. The position oversees the receiving, shipping, storage and distribution of approximately $10 million annually of material through production and service parts; monitors inventory of approximately $4,000,000; and supervises 6 associates across two shifts.

Essential Functions

Plans and coordinates work, trains, develops, and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse, shipping and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials as needed; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.

Responsible for unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensuring materials are accurately counted and visually inspected; ensuring the accuracy of receiving paperwork, receiving and identifying the materials, transporting the materials to the appropriate location or delivering to quality if more extensive inspection is required, delivering the receiving paperwork to accounting for further processing.

Reports and resolves discrepancies with accounting, quality, and the purchaser regarding material quantity and quality as well as invoices, packing slips, and receiver paperwork.

Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.

Ensures the delivery of shipping and receiving paperwork to the Accounting Department for processing.

Oversees the movement of materials throughout the organization from receiving to Quality, machine shop and raw or finish warehouses as well as from warehouse to Assembly to Shipping to the freight carrier in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

Ensures materials are stored in an organized, easy to access, and clearly marked fashion to allow efficient order picking and to conserve space and comply with safety and quality procedures.

Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.

Required Education and Experience

2 to 5 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, logistics, inventory control or materials management in a manufacturing environment, with 1 year of supervisory experience

Demonstrated knowledge of quality principles and lean manufacturing principles. (ISO, Six Sigma, 6S, etc.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and assist with achieving corporate goals

Demonstrated substantial organizational, personnel development and communication skills.
